Nosizwe

“I’m the sell out, and she’s the artist,” said Madcon’s Tshawe Baqwa to NRK Lydverket about his little sister.

Comparable perhaps to the Knowles sisters Beyoncé and Solange, Nosizwe Baqwa has chosen to take a rather more indie route to pop success than her big brother, though no stranger to the pop world having already worked with the likes of Madcon, Karpe Diem, Sofian, Paperboys, Sisi and Charlotte Thorstvedt. She has also sung with the NRK Orchestra, on Norwegian TV-channel TV2, at Oslo Live, as part of a performance art piece for contemporary artist Anne Kathrine Dolven as well as being a headline at Lofoten International Art Festival in 2011.
Her music is a playful mix of pop, jazz, electronica and urban styles.

In November 2012, she released her first single “Do You,” which is about having the courage to just.. well, being yourself:

“Focus on what’s inside you, be a positive person, try and spread just a little happiness and when you make other people happy, be happy.”

Nosizwe’s debut album will be released later this summer.
